I have to admit I was very pleased with how quick the above has been completed .
I attended a just talk session in Pulborough to talk about my care needs etc. At the session in about hour & half I was able to talk to both a social service worker & a occupational therapist.to cut this short this is a trial that is being tried in the Chichester area to try to improve the service . Instead of contacting a OT than waiting to be referred to Social service & waiting for then to visit. You can be given a date when you go to local just talk there are 3 or 4 in the Chichester area. In my case this worked well although i did not take the help offered by social service but still found it helpful.
The OT was very helpful & offered a home visit so she could see the problems I had in my home within a week she had ordered a different type of shower wheelchair to make it easier for me. Within 4 weeks this was done.
Now we come to the DFG work. I have not been able to go out to my patio without a lot of help. Due to a big step down & area having a step slop . She requested that a DFG be considered for this work thus took about about 2 months to sort out . But today the work has been completed it took a day & half to do the work . I have to wait till Monday before I can test the work plus on Tuesday the work should be signed off.
So in about 3 months the problems I talked about have been sorted . Most impressed i know that the just talk sessions do not suit everyone one. But for me it is a big improvement & a sign that with a will things can happen quickly.
That’s really good to hear that this has worked out so well for you, Graham - hopefully you will be able to enjoy time on your patio soon (that’s when the rain stops!).
